Baby Hats

Baby’s First Hat

This was a very quick knit.  The pattern was from Blue Sky Alpaca, and I used their Organic Cotton yarn.  Very soft!  Knitted in the round with double-pointed needles.

Children’s Cotton Hat

Knitted with Mission Falls 1824 cotton yarn, pattern from Last-Minute Knitted Gifts.  I thought the texture of the yarn was a great fit for this style of hat! Knitted in the round with circular needles, which are much easier for me than double-pointed.

Baby/Toddler Bonnets

I meant to send these two bonnets back with my mom after Anton was born, but I forgot, and now the two little girls I knitted them for have long since outgrown them.  I probably need a lot more practice before I start knitting gifts anyway, and this project definitely provided me with a lot of that, especially with respect to picking up stitches!  I guess you can’t tell much from the picture, but the bonnets actually look quite cute when worn . . but I think my little boy would come to resent it if I had him model a bonnet for the world to see.  Pattern was again from Last-Minute Knitted Gifts. Yarn was Rowan Kid Classic in bear and peach sorbet.
