Baby Booties with Seam
This was my first attempt at knitting baby booties. I used a free pattern I found on the web. The pattern was published by Sullivan’s, but I used some yarn I had leftover from another project: Rowan’s 4-ply cotton yarn in honeydew. Unfortunately, the pattern has a seam right down the bottom of the foot. So, while they are cute when viewed from the top, they are completely impractical . . . at least, I wouldn’t subject a baby to such discomfort, especially with my messy seaming!
Angora Baby Booties
Anton was actually able to wear these baby booties, although he sure grew out of them quickly! They were knitted in the round with double-pointed needles, and the yarn – 100% angora – was unbelievably soft. I used another pattern from Last-Minute Knitted Gifts for them, which I found quite ingenious.
